This Refund Policy explains our policy regarding refunds for ScanTheGap subscriptions. Please read this policy carefully before subscribing to our service.
2. Nature of Service
ScanTheGap is a digital subscription service that provides:
- AI-powered market gap analysis
- Instant access to scan results
- Digital reports and exports
- Ongoing access to the platform
As a digital service, once you have used the service (i.e., run a scan), the service has been delivered and consumed.
3. EU Right of Withdrawal (14-Day Cooling Off Period)
3.1 For EU Consumers
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason, in accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU).
3.2 When the Right Applies
The 14-day withdrawal period applies if:
- You have subscribed to ScanTheGap
- You have not yet used the service (i.e., you have not run any scans)
- It is within 14 days of your subscription start date
3.3 When the Right is Waived
According to Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive, the right of withdrawal does not apply to:
"The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium if the performance has begun with the consumer's prior express consent and his acknowledgment that he thereby loses his right of withdrawal."
This means: If you have used the service by running a scan, you acknowledge that the digital service has been delivered, and you waive your right of withdrawal.
3.4 How to Exercise Your Right of Withdrawal
If you wish to withdraw within the 14-day period and have not used the service, please contact us at:

- Subject: "Withdrawal Request — [Your Order Reference]"
Include in your email:
- Your full name
- Your registered email address
- Your order/subscription reference number
- Date of subscription
- Clear statement that you wish to withdraw
4. Cancellation Policy
4.1 Cancel Anytime
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.
4.2 What Happens When You Cancel
- Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period
- You will continue to have full access to the service until the end of the paid period
- You will not be charged for subsequent billing periods
- No refunds will be provided for the remaining time in your current billing period
4.3 Example
If you subscribe on January 1st for a monthly plan and cancel on January 15th:
- You will have access until January 31st
- You will not be charged on February 1st
- No refund will be provided for January 15-31
5. No Partial Refunds
We do not provide partial refunds for:
- Unused time within a billing period
- Unused scans or features
- Change of mind after using the service
- Dissatisfaction with scan results (as they are AI-generated and informational only)
6. Exceptions - Technical Failures
6.1 Service Unavailability
We may consider refunds on a case-by-case basis if:
- The service was completely unavailable for an extended period due to technical issues on our end
- You were unable to use the service due to a critical bug or error that we could not resolve
- You were charged incorrectly due to a billing error
6.2 How to Request an Exception
To request a refund due to technical issues:
- Email info@scanthegap.com with subject "Refund Request — Technical Issue"
- Provide detailed description of the technical problem
- Include screenshots or error messages if available
- Provide dates and times when the issue occurred
We will review your request and respond within 5 business days.
7. Fraudulent or Unauthorized Charges
7.1 Unauthorized Transactions
If you believe you have been charged without authorization:
- Contact us immediately at info@scanthegap.com
- We will investigate and resolve the issue promptly
- Unauthorized charges will be refunded in full
7.2 Disputed Charges
Before disputing a charge with your bank or credit card company, please contact us first. We can often resolve billing issues quickly and directly.
8. Refund Processing
8.1 Processing Time
If a refund is approved:
- We will process the refund within 5-10 business days
- The refund will be issued to the original payment method
- Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take an additional 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account
8.2 Refund Method
Refunds are processed through Stripe, our payment processor, and will be returned to:
- The same credit/debit card used for the original purchase, or
- Your bank account (if paid via bank transfer)
9. Annual Subscriptions
9.1 Annual Plan Refunds
For annual subscriptions:
- The same policies apply as for monthly subscriptions
- The 14-day EU withdrawal right applies if you have not used the service
- Once you have used the service, no refunds are provided
- You may cancel at any time, but access continues until the end of the annual period
9.2 No Pro-Rata Refunds
We do not provide pro-rata refunds for annual subscriptions. If you cancel after 6 months, you will not receive a refund for the remaining 6 months.
10. Free Trials and Promotional Offers
10.1 Free Trial Period
If we offer a free trial:
- You may cancel at any time during the trial period without charge
- If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged for the subscription
- Once charged, the standard refund policy applies
10.2 Promotional Discounts
Promotional discounts and special offers are non-refundable once the service has been used.
11. Account Termination by Us
11.1 Violation of Terms
If we terminate your account due to violation of our Terms of Service:
- No refund will be provided
- You will lose access immediately
- Any prepaid subscription fees are forfeited
11.2 Service Discontinuation
If we discontinue the ScanTheGap service entirely:
- We will provide at least 30 days' notice
- Pro-rata refunds will be provided for any unused prepaid time
