1. Service Description

ScanTheGap is an AI-powered market gap discovery tool for solo developers and indie hackers. It collects publicly available data from online sources and uses AI to identify, score and rank product opportunities into a prioritised list of results per scan.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use ScanTheGap. By registering you confirm you are using the service for business or professional purposes. The service is available to registered users only — there is no anonymous scan access.

3. Account Responsibilities

• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
• One account per person — do not share accounts
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access at info@scanthegap.com
• You are responsible for all activity under your account

4. Acceptable Use

You must not:

• Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or automate access to the ScanTheGap platform
• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to circumvent credit limits or access controls
• Resell or redistribute scan results as your own product or service
• Use the service to harm, harass, or deceive others

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Scan results are generated by AI and are provided for informational purposes only. They do not constitute financial, legal, or business advice. Results may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for verifying any information before acting on it. ScanTheGap makes no guarantee of the accuracy, completeness, viability, or fitness of results for any particular purpose.

6. Credits, Pricing and Billing

ScanTheGap uses a credit-based model. You buy credit packs as a one-time purchase (for example, packs of 5, 20 or 50 scans). There is no subscription and no recurring billing — you are only charged when you choose to buy a pack.

• One credit is consumed when a scan starts, not based on the quality of the results.
• Credit purchases are processed securely through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Credits do not expire while your account is active.
• Certain failures are refunded automatically in credits — see our Refund Policy for the exact conditions.

7. Intellectual Property

ScanTheGap owns all rights to the platform, software, and branding. You own the scan results generated for your account and any data you export. You may use your results freely for your own business purposes, subject to the acceptable-use restrictions above. The platform itself, and any underlying methodology or scoring logic, remains the property of ScanTheGap.

8. Limitation of Liability

ScanTheGap is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under German law.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Deleting your account removes your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy; any unused credits are forfeited on account deletion.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Where you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. Any disputes shall, to the extent permitted by law, be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Hamburg, Germany.
